The Kenyan Child Foundation
The Kenyan Child Foundation was established with the view to promoting access to free quality primary schooling for the children of Kenya. We want to make a difference to the lives of these children by building schools and fostering community involvement among those most disadvantaged in the Kenya.
Our main aim is to ensure access to quality education for the poorest and most marginalised people in the region. However, access simply does not suffice. Once in school, children need to be in an environment that empowers them to realise their potential. As a minimum standard, we believe that a successful basic education must result in functional levels of literacy and numeracy. This enables people to lift themselves out of poverty and independently improve their lives.
A BASIC PRIMARY EDUCATION IS EVERY CHILD’S FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT, REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY LIVE IN THE WORLD
As well as being a fundamental human right, basic education offers individuals greater economic opportunities and permits them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. One of the most effective ways of improving an individual’s futures is by increasing access to quality education.
All funds and donations raised by the Kenyan Child Foundation go directly to school building projects: these contributions assist in the funding of Kenyan teacher’s salaries as well as the further development of the schools.
The Kenyan Child Foundation is most fortunate to have wonderful volunteers and donors who give of their time and expertise freely. Those involved in outreach projects to Kenya bear the full cost of their own travelling expenses for the advancement of such programmes.
